Telling Stories & Sevenoaks Kaleidoscope Gallery

a grey circle with the words - telling stories inside of it

Call For Entries for an event 27 September – 15 November 2013

Opportunity for digital artists: Artists are invited to put forward proposed or finished works which interpret the theme of Telling Stories – exploring the artist’s role as storyteller. Submissions are encouraged that consider the space at the Sevenoaks Kaleidoscope Gallery and Library as the containers for site-specific works addressing ideas of communication and miscommunication.

Previous Telling Stories projects in Margate and Hastings can be viewed at www.tellingstories.info

All media will be considered, including proposals for site-specific, performance and/or digital pieces. Please specify any technical installation and display requirements in your application and the gallery will make every effort to accommodate these requirements. The curatorial team will endeavour to select work that is not only strong in itself, but will develop a conceptual and/or aesthetic relationship with the gallery space.

Selected artists will be responsible for delivering their work to the gallery and collecting work once the exhibition has finished.

Please email images (up to 1Mb) along with a statement outlining proposed works. Submissions and enquiries should be directed to kaleidoscope@kent.gov.uk

The deadline for receipt of submission is at noon on Monday 12 August.

The Sevenoaks Kaleidoscope Gallery is a contemporary space run by Kent County Council to show new and experimental work from established and emerging artists.
